The story of Raffinata began 7 years before the webshop was launched. I first saw the products of the Austrian Hartjes Manufaktur at an exhibition. I tried on a pair of shoes, went home wearing them, and shortly afterwards I already knew that one day I wanted to work with these shoes. My little burgundy pair, which was love at first sight back then, is still part of my everyday life.

Now – in 2026 – after all these years, we have begun selling Hartjes shoes. The goal of our family business is to share with you the same feeling I experienced 7 years ago: love at first step-in. This is the kind of shoe you always choose in the morning and can hardly bring yourself to swap for another pair that day.

These are shoes that you usually cannot buy straight from stock – you may need to wait for them to arrive, or even to be made, as there is no mass production – but you always know what you will get and how it will feel to slip them on.
